Each snare starts with a copper shell which is known to have a warm, articulate tone. A thin layer of black powder coating is applied to the shell which adds just the right amount of control to the overall sonic character of the drum. The finishing touch is a laser engraved round badge logo exposing the copper shell hidden underneath.
